There are so many great things about New York City that it is hard to even keep track of them all. I’ve been living and loving NYC for the last 3 years and I’ve gotten to learn about some of the coolest spots in the city. To be more specific, some of the coolest rooftop bars.
Check out my favorite places to enjoy a glass (or two) of wine and enjoy the amazing views that only New York City can offer.
A Lower East Side treat is The DL. Head up to the top floor and you’re incased in a what basically looks like a greenhouse. The music is always going and the drinks are always flowing. The outdoor space is small and intimate but provides you with that fresh air you so desperately need after breaking it down on the dance floor. This is one of my favorite spots to get to around 11 or 12 o’clock and enjoy until it shuts down. If you’re looking to splurge a little, there are great tables located at the edge of the dance floor to give those feet a break.
Easily one of the chicest bars in all of New York City is Mr. Purple. Located in the super trendy Lower East Side neighborhood and perched on the 15th floor of the Hotel Indigo, it offers amazing views of Manhattan, not to mention they have two terraces and there is a pool! The bar is the best part of this place (duh). They feature an impressive collection of small-batch spirits, regionally brewed craft beers, and a amazing selection of wine. What more could you want? This is definitely a higher class place, so make sure you dress to impress!
The Press Lounge
Heading over to the west side of Manhattan there is The Press Lounge. This rooftop is located right on the edge of the Hudson River and gives you insane views of New Jersey, Midtown Manhattan and the amazing sunsets. I’ve spent a birthday or two here, and while the drinks are expensive, the view makes up for it. The rooftop is a great size which allows you have have intimate conversations or join the rest of the party. The vibe is very laid back which in my old age (lol), I’m starting to enjoy more and more. I suggest coming here Friday after work, grabbing a glass of Merlot and watching the sun set over the Hudson River.
Pod 39 is the only midtown Manhattan roof top bar I would go to. I mean just look at that photo, it’s something you don’t find in NYC regularly. You can grab amazing views of the sunset here and this is one of my go to places for happy hour and after work activities. Pod 39 is just as lively on weekdays as weekends, which is a sign of a great bar. The atmosphere is very laid back and is accommodating for individuals of any age.
