Alright guys, here’s a quick and dirty post about UberEats.
This is my actual new (to me), FAVORITE delivery service. Now, I’m a pretty dedicated Seamless orderer – some may even go so far to call me an addict… But, I used UberEats yesterday for the first time to order lunch. And let me tell you, it was totally amazing. I’m a convert. And, bonus points, it’s available in a lot of cities around the country, plus Toranto and Paris for any ~international~ readers.
Here’s the nitty gritty: Seamless obviously has tons of restaurants and foods and options that you can order, which is pretty much my dream. They’ll deliver anything to you that you can dream up, and there’s tax and tip that are included in addition to the price of the food and drank. Pretty much every New Yorker knows this (and if you don’t, I’m not sure how you survive in tiny NYC apartment kitchens).
But, UberEats (exactly as the name implies) is just like ordering an Uber car. They have a limited selection of food each day, about two-three different meals (today there’s a delicious roast beef sandwich and a donut that are calling my name). There’s only a few options, but they pretty much always look great. And if you’re interested in one, you request it just like you would the car service. And, voilà, within 10 minutes someone has delivered your food. No tip, tax, etc. necessary, just like when riding in an Uber – the fees are all included.
Like Seamless, the price varies depending on the dish – yesterday I scored a veggie bowl from BeyondSushi (check out their Instagram here – droll-worthy) for $5 all in because of a discount code. I ordered at 1:30 and I had my lunch in front of me by 1:45. It’s like food magic. Highly recommended.
